A case study of a school computer network
General overview of the school network
The network covers both senior and prep sections. There are two server units. One server served as the "DMZ". Only data from that server will be shared, so if it is hacked, the contents of the other server would not be hacked. There are mac servers, PC servers and SANDforce dives for RAID data storage. Internet comes through the Fortinet firewall, is filtered then is transferred into the server .The server than transmit all of this data to 45 switches over the school using a 10GB fiber link. The switches then transmit the data through a 1GB to laserlink sensors and a radio transmitter. The sensors then transmit the data to wireless points . Then there's connection.
